Umm, I gotta tell you this pasta is amazing!!
I had a feeling it would be really good while I was scarfing down my Crockpot BBQ Chicken Pizza a few weeks ago. And sure enough – it’s the pasta bomb dot com!!!
I mean just look at it glistening and drippin’ in all that yumminess… with that savory and sweet sauce, shredded cheddar cheese, and penne pasta, topped off with chopped green onions. Absolutely mouth-watering my friend!
And of course crockpot chicken is a no-brainer – AmIRight!?
How to Make Slow Cooker BBQ Chicken:
I used chicken tenders for this recipe and left them whole, but you could use chicken breasts and shred them after they’re cooked as well.
They cook pretty quickly in the slow cooker… it only took 2 ½ hours on high. So it would take 5 hours on low, and maybe even less time than that.
I have to be honest: the secret is definitely in the sauce! Yes – the sauce totally makes this recipe sing.
I used a combination of marinara, chicken stock, BBQ sauce, and spices to give it some sweetness but some savory flavor as well. Let me tell you it’s crockpot bbq chicken perfection!
Well let’s get right to it…
Add the chicken tenders, marinara, BBQ sauce, chicken stock, garlic powder and onion powder to the slow cooker.
Cook on high for 2-½ hours (or cook on Low for 4 ½ hours).
Add in the cooked pasta…
⅓ cup more BBQ sauce, cheddar cheese, and green onions…
Turn the slow cooker off and put the lid back on for 1-3 minutes until cheese is melted, then gently stir. Garnish with more cheese, green onions, and parsley if you want. Then devour!!
What Sides Go With BBQ Chicken:
If you’re looking to balance out your meal with some veggies, I recommend my Ranch Broccoli,or my Roasted Parmesan Broccoli. If you just want a simple salad you can’t go wrong with my easy Arugula Salad with Parmesan and lemon.
I think your family is gonna go crazy for this easy crockpot bbq meal! And wouldn’t that be awesome for you since it’s sooo easy to make!
I suspect this delicious crockpot chicken is gonna be on repeat in your weeknight dinner menu line-up for many years to come. Enjoy!

This looks like my kind of meal. I love using the crockpot, especially during the winter. Chicken is the favorite meat for my family so I will have to give this one a try.

I just made this dish. It is very easy to prepare and delicious. The only adjustment I made was using about 5 ounces of shredded cheddar, I am not a big fan of cheese and my family can add it later as a topping. Great recipe- thank you
Jaime

Aw you're more than welcome, Jaime! I'm so glad you enjoyed the dish. I like using the marinara because it balances out the sweetness of the bbq sauce. Plus, it means that the recipe is a bit healthier since we're not using as much sugar.
